Green living is still new to numerous people, and so there are several misconceptions. Green living is so much more than merely buying a hybrid car or purchasing organically grown produce. Myths have gotten started about green living, and it would be a good idea to get these myths cleared up. One myth that you usually hear is that we can lessen global warming by planting more trees. This is false when we talk about places with a colder climate. When it comes to northerly portions of the planet, planting more trees causes the earth to be warmer. To make planting trees a benefit, then you need to plant them in citified places. This will do plenty of good because the trees cleanse the air of automobile exhaust.

One more myth is that the world will become much better by doing away with plastic bags and replacing them with paper bags. The truth is that neither is beneficial when we talk about CO2 emissions. When producing and getting rid of these bags, carbon emissions are caused by both types. Although paper bags are not the best, they are a better option than plastic bags. A much better alternative is the recyclable bag that can be used over and over. The most pragmatic and most effective of these bags are cloth bags.

Still another myth you may hear is that if you can choose, you should drive rather than fly to your location. The only time that it is genuinely better to drive is when you have a very fuel-efficient vehicle. The best thing you can do is to drive less often and share rides with others whenever possible. Anything that will decrease the number of miles driven collectively, globally, will help vastly. Furthermore, you may have also heard the myth that you should find local sources when purchasing food. When buying food, it is important to know how it is made than where. A food needs to be organic to be considered really green. Not all food farmed locally is organically grown. And so, the way to ascertain a food’s value is to research the method used to grow the food.

The last myth is that electric cars are friendly to the environment. A high level of CO2 will be given off by the electric cars in these places. If the electricity can be created from a renewable energy source, electric-powered cars will be able to benefit the environment. Most of the myths regarding green living are not actually false; they’re merely talked about in the wrong context.

Living green is truly important. When you do it in the proper way, you’re experiencing the most benefit. There is no reason to be doing things that you believe will work for helping the earth, when they really don’t.
